Vote No on Ballot Question 3 September 25, 2008

Hello Mr Theil,

Yes, in 2007, 64,316 greyhounds raced in Massachusetts.  99.8% finished healthy and totally without injury.   We are over seen by the, Mass State Racing Commision, The Massachuessts State Police, as well as Massachusetts lincensed Veterinarians.  We also follow the guildlines set by the MSPCA.  You should know all of this , being a paid lobbyist.  We also adopt out all our retired greyhound racers, {does Grey2kusa adopt out any greyhounds}. that answer would be NO!     We don’t pull on folks heartstrings for donations for our cause. Your www.grey2kusa.org site asks time again for donations….why is that? If you have 3,000 volunteers, than why does your cause need so much money from dog loving folks?  Show us where your money goes. Do you put on your website that your a paid lobbyist?

Here we go again September 23, 2008

hello all…. my name is, Hats off Harli , I’m a retired greyhound racer.  I want to inform you about the facts of my greyhound racing world.   I need to do this because of the misinformation that Grey2kusa sends to our general public.   I know first hand about the facts and fiction.  So here we go, fact:  100% of adoptable greyhounds are adopted!  Thats right 100% !!!  We don’t have a time limit……we all go to a loving home when we retire.  Fact: yes some of us do get injured, in 2007, 64,316 greyhounds raced in Massachusetts. 98.2% finished healthy and totally without injury.{Offical Racing Commission Figures:Even Minor Injuries Must Be Reported}.. with that being said, if we break a toenail it’s reported as an injury.  The folks at Grey2kusa say we are in our crates 20-22 hrs a day…pleassssssssssseeeeeeeee, our day begins at 6:00a.m. we get a morning turn-out, go sprinting or schooling, go home, get let out again, then we eat,{unless offically racing that night, if so we eat after racing},after eating we get turned out again. Then we get our morning rub out..{body massage}. WE rest for awhile and then get turned out again around 2or3pm. Each turn-out is likely to be 1 hour or more, depending on the weather. We then either go to schooling races or offical racing.  We are turned out again in the evening around 7:30,8:00 for at least another hr. If we race that night at the track we get turned out before our meal and after our meal.  Can anyone out there say they take their dog out  5-8 times a day?
